We launched Sense with a simple goal: to help people sleep better. Every day, we hear from someone how Sense has enabled them to improve their sleep, and how much that has impacted their lives.

But we’re not done yet. We wanted to create a product that is both beautiful and effortless to use. From the beginning, we’ve always believed that technology should simply weave into your everyday life: there when you need it and disappearing when you don’t. Our latest product reinforces this fundamental principle.

Interact in the most natural of ways

To make Sense a truly effortless product, we’ve added powerful voice control. No more relying on your smartphone: All you need to do is speak. We’ve built Voice into the core functionality of Sense, so using your favorite features has never felt more natural.

Setting an alarm is now as easy as “Okay Sense, wake me up at 7 AM.” And drifting off to sleep is as simple as “Okay Sense, play rainfall for 30 minutes.”

We did this by using powerful far-field microphones with beam-forming technology to hear you clearly, no matter where you are in your bedroom. Life just got a little easier at the beginning and end of each day.

A more perceptive Sense

With the new Sense, we’ve built the most sophisticated array of sensors in your home, giving you even more insight about your room before and during your sleep.

The same beautiful Sense is now packed with new sensors for UV light, light-temperature, barometric pressure, potentially harmful CO2 levels and volatile organic compounds to give you a complete picture of how your sleeping environment impacts your sleep.

Whether it’s sleep inhibiting blue light emanating from your devices, or harmful particulates in the air you’re breathing, Sense will let you know. So you can minimize disruption to your sleep, and improve your everyday health.

Expanding the smart home

Up until now, the smart home has been missing the most important piece: you. Sense with Voice now connects with your other smart devices through all new Expansions, to make your bedroom the perfect sanctuary for sleep.

With Expansions, you’ll be able to set your ideal room temperature and activate your preferred lighting automatically when you wake up with Smart Alarm. Say hello to waking up to your perfect morning every time.

We are starting with two of our favorite connected devices, Nest Learning Thermostat and Philips Hue Lights. All of the Expansions for Sense with Voice are completely controllable from your nightstand by simply saying “Okay Sense”. We’ll be announcing more Expansions soon.

Why we started with sleep

At Hello, the reason we started with sleep is not because we are a sleep company. We believe that sleep is simply the best place to start; it’s the foundation to each day and affects everything we do.

Our vision is of technology that disappears, is beautiful, is natural and that helps you to live better through knowing more about yourself and the world around you. Sense with Voice is our latest expression of this vision but we’re continually working tirelessly on the ideas we have to bring this thinking into other parts of people’s lives.
